The race is on, John.

After new district lines were drawn, the electorate in the 49th shifted slightly in Republicans’ favor. But despite these challenges, our grassroots team held its own and notched a strong performance in the primary.

Now, the media is finally picking up on what we’ve long known: Mike’s campaign to keep CA-49 blue is one of the few districts that “could determine which party controls the House majority.”

Here is what we have our eye on heading into the General Election:

- A Kevin McCarthy-aligned super PAC doubled down on its promise to spend $1.6 MILLION on TV attack ads in the San Diego media market.

- The Republican candidate who advanced to challenge us is a known self-funder who has spent millions in past campaigns against Mike -- mostly on deceptive attack ads.

John, our campaign has never taken a cent from corporate PACs, so we depend on individual people like you to power our movement.
