Friend --

Happy Tuesday! We have a busy week.

Join us for our Detroit DSA monthly General Meeting, this Saturday, June 7, 10am–noon at Ant Hall (2320 Caniff, Hamtramck). Members and visitors are welcome as always. Come see how to get involved.

Note on accessibility: The venue has a small step up at the entrance. Childminding available on request. Please email us your request or questions so we can make arrangements. [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>.

The General Meeting will be followed by a canvass for Bernie Sanders in Jefferson Chalmers beginning at 1 pm. We’ll be knocking doors and talking to people about why it’s time to elect a Democratic Socialist. This canvass will be led by the Detroit DSA Socialists of Color caucus. Register here <[link removed]>. No prior canvassing experience is necessary, all are welcome! Make sure to dress warm for the weather.

Also — are you passionate about getting Bernie Sanders elected in 2020? We are assembling a team within Detroit DSA to lead our Bernie efforts between now and the March 10 primary in Michigan. Email [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> if you can help.

Also this Saturday from 11 am – 5 pm, our Medicare for All team is partnering once again with Wings of Truth Gospel Church in Highland Park for a Free Health Fair. This event is taking place during the church's Community Outreach Festival. We’ll be joined by HUDA Clinic and Debt Collective to offer free medical screenings, debt relief consultation, and free healthy meals. Members of Detroit DSA will also be changing brake lights for free for any motorists in need of new lights on their car. The event is free to anyone in the community. Volunteers welcome! Details are here <[link removed]>.

Most members of the Medicare for All group will be attending the General Meeting at Ant Hall at 10 am. They will have a brief working group break out meeting at 11 am before heading over to the Health Fair.
