NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler wrote to the Senate Banking Committee in conjunction with their discussion Thursday on the reauthorization and reform of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), sharing the association’s support for the long-term reauthorization and continued modernization of the NFIP.

FFIEC releases 2021 HMDA data ([link removed] )

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Thursday announced the 2021 Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data has been released. Of note, the HMDA data is the most comprehensive publicly available information on mortgage market activity.

CFPB seeks consumer feedback to measure impact of FIs overdraft programs ([link removed] )

The CFPB published a blog post Thursday regarding overdraft and non-sufficient fund (NSF) fees. The post describes the bureau’s supervisory efforts toward financial institutions “with a higher share of frequent over drafters or a higher average fee burden for overdrafts.”

NCUA receives briefing on post-exam feedback survey ([link removed] )

The NCUA Board Thursday held its June meeting where NCUA staff briefed the board on the post-exam feedback survey pilot program. Of note, staff revealed that 1,058 optional surveys were distributed by the Office of the Ombudsman and the NCUA received responses from 186 credit unions, representing a 17 percent response rate.
