Last month, we posted an Advocates original cartoon on our Facebook ([link removed]) and Twitter ([link removed]) pages. The audience feedback was incredible!

Not only were many people exposed to a key lesson on how governments actually work, but there were also some great conversations between people that led to some libertarian “lightbulb moments”.

Of course, you and I understand there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch (TANSTAAFL). Someone else willingly (maybe through donation), or against their will (perhaps through taxation), paid for that good or service.

And as Porky the porcupine points out in the cartoon above, when you accept a “free” item from Uncle Sam, he is going to want or expect something from you in return.

Look how quickly stimulus checks, rescue plans, and just plain cronyism became inflation.

Why Does Our Facebook Page Matter to You?

We reached 21.8 million unique persons on Facebook, in 2021. That was a whopping 1,000% increase over the previous year because we made an investment.

We had ten posts reach over one million unique people each - with no boosting through advertising dollars! As a result, we averaged 226 new Followers/week - nearly 12,000 people.

We are starting off strong this year, too. We started the year just a hair under 80,000 followers, and we now have 87,197 total Followers.

What’s the big deal about those numbers? Why do we even bother with social media?

First, we reach people with messages of self-government they might not get otherwise – like this Liberty Valance cartoon.

Second, it's a pathway to our Quiz, our Surveys, and our website where we can take people further. In fact…

More than 106,000 people came to our Quiz via social media, last year.
