I wanted to reach out to you personally and share what’s going on with the Protecting Our Kids Act. We will be voting on this on the House floor this week. I know many of you may not have seen these details so I wanted to share.
I serve on the House Judiciary Committee, and last Thursday in a grueling 9+ hour meeting, the committee debated and marked up the Protecting Our Kids Act. In the wake of so much tragic, preventable gun violence, it is essential that we continue working towards common sense solutions for gun violence prevention — this can not and will not be another moment of legislative inaction.
Often when we hear about legislation it feels so dense and out of our personal control, but I want to give you a debrief of the Protecting Our Kids Act that is soon coming up for a vote and ask you to sign your name in support of this essential gun violence prevention legislation [[link removed]] .

Our debate and mark up meeting last week was a battle. My Republican colleagues in Congress think the solution to the gun violence epidemic is thoughts and prayers. While we Democrats know we need real legislative reform on the state and federal level.
I am taking this fight head on and I need your support. Sign on now and send a message to the GOP that we are not stopping until we move on the Protecting Our Kids Act [[link removed]] .
