Raised: $515,000 | Goal: $600,000

Dear Friend,

I recently spoke with a woman in her 60s from her bed in a hospital trauma ward in Ukraine. She'd been shot while walking with her hands up. As she told her story, I teared up. She wiped her own tears, held my hand and said, "Thank you very much." I wanted to hug her, but with all the equipment, I could only squeeze her hand and smile.

During my time in Ukraine, I met many survivors like that woman and the dedicated health professionals working night and day to care for them. And I returned home even more determined to help.

To help the most people possible -- people like the woman I met in Ukraine -- Project HOPE needs you, your compassion and your generosity. Please make your contribution to our Time for HOPE Matching Gift Challenge. Through June 15, every $1 you donate becomes $2 and doubles your impact.

What I witnessed in Ukraine was devastating. Russian forces have attacked more than 100 health facilities, even those marked with red crosses to show they are medical relief centers. Brave doctors, nurses and support staff have remained to care for the sick, traumatized and injured. They are performing miracles with limited resources -- and they urgently need our support...

Here's some examples of what your 2X-matched gift can help deliver around the world:

* Medical supplies like gauze, sutures, needles and wheelchairs
* Medicines including insulin, antibiotics and oral rehydration salts
* Prenatal care for pregnant women and infant kits for newborns
* Support for local partners to scale up mental health services

During my time in Ukraine, I was struck by the contrast between the horrors of the war and the resiliency of its survivors and the doctors, nurses and other health care workers risking their own lives to help them.

As hard as it is to process how the worst and best in humanity can coexist side-by-side, I can't and won't give in to despair. None of us can when there is so much need. So please join Project HOPE when your lifesaving gift will be doubled. I have seen firsthand how even in the most dire of circumstances your generosity can make a huge difference.

With gratitude and in partnership,
