As I was making my decision to run for Congress again, I was on a run around the neighborhood when I passed a sign from my previous campaign staked in someone’s lawn. It took me by surprise, and I knew I had to talk to the person who had kept it there all this time.

When I asked the woman who answered why she kept my sign up, her response was: “I’ll give up when you give up.”

In the past few weeks, I’ve been reflecting on this story more and more, and feeling as determined as ever to win this fight. I am not giving up, and I know you won’t either.

Staten Island and Brooklyn deserve a member of Congress who’s going to fight for them and their needs. But right now, Nicole Malliotakis and other House Republicans would rather tear us apart just to build themselves up.
