We knew that we'd built a strong, people-powered campaign this spring. Still, when the press called our race within 15 minutes of returns being released, it was a surreal experience.

Since then, it's been a whirlwind .

We've brought thousands more folks into our movement. Oregonians are stepping forward to fight for commonsense, progressive leadership in Washington: our phones are ringing, folks are showing up at the office to volunteer, and we're growing by the day.

But, John, we've got to get bigger still . This is going to be one of the toughest races in the country. We need to be prepared, and that means building up our numbers now .

Two years ago, they dropped millions into our state and gave Peter DeFazio the toughest race of his career – and the most expensive in Oregon history. They're not going to back down now.
