RWJF Elects Two Nurse Leaders as Trustees
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has elected as trustees two nurses who are deeply committed to transforming health care and building a Culture of Health for a diverse society: Azita Emami, PhD, MSN, BSN, and Jing Wang, PhD, MPH, RN. Wang also serves on the Campaign&rsquo;s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Steering Committee. Their terms start July 27.

Honor the Nurses on Memorial Day
Recent years especially have reminded us why we refer to nurses as being on the front lines. Memorial Day 2022 is just behind us, but it&rsquo;s still worth it to pay tribute to the nurses who have died while serving the U.S. in the military. Virtually visit the Arlington National Cemetery Nurses Memorial, which was built at the urging of Major Julia C. Stimson, a nurse.

Report Says Nursing Shortage Needs More Attention, Offers Ideas
America needs more nurses, yet qualified students are turned away each year. Central to solving the shortage, says a new report, &ldquo;is a higher education system that has the capacity to supply enough nursing graduates to meet the demands.&rdquo; The report from the Center for American Progress, an independent nonpartisan policy institute, has suggestions for employers, policymakers, and others.

American Nurses Foundation Boosts Efforts to Reimagine Health Care
Announced last year, the American Nurses Foundation Reimagining Nursing Initiative (RN Initiative) is now granting $14 million to 10 pilot programs in 21 states. The newly created Leonard A. Lauder Community Care Nurse Practitioner Program, a result of the $125 million gift from Lauder, an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, seeks a faculty director.
