John,
The emperor penguin, the world’s largest penguin and one of only two penguin species native to Antarctica, is at severe risk of extinction in the next three to four decades.

The emperor needs solid sea ice to nest fledgling chicks and complete their reproductive cycle. If the water reaches the newborn penguins before they are ready to swim, they die of the cold and drown.

John, we need to take action on climate change NOW if we are going to have any hope of keeping the emperor penguin from extinction. SEEC members in Congress work day in and day out to save vulnerable animals like these. Can you chip in a donation today to help them keep up the fight? [[link removed]]

We have to move quickly. At the Halley Bay colony in the Weddell Sea, the second-largest emperor penguin colony , every chick born in the last three years has died.

The emperor penguin's disappearance could dramatically impact Antarctica's food chain. In addition to rising sea levels, the rise of tourism and fishing on the continent has also put the emperor's future at risk by affecting krill, one of the main food sources for penguins and other species.

Our SEEC members are the biggest advocates in Congress for vulnerable species facing extinction. We need to make sure the emperor penguin has as many allies in Washington as possible. Can you make a contribution to help us fight for these magnificent creatures? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here [[link removed]] to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe: [link removed] .
