Critical End of Month Deadline

Hello,
“We’re taking California back.” Those were the first words to come from a fiery-eyed Vice President Mike Pence as I welcomed him to the Bay Area on November 12. The Vice President’s initial statement might seem laughable to many at a time when the Democrats hold a super-majority in the state legislature.

The Vice President was not ignorant of the Democratic Party’s current stronghold on California. Nevertheless, he made it clear he had a keen understanding of the plight of our state—a homeless population that mirrors that of a third world country, a state legislature that seems more intent on banning plastic straws than addressing the wildfire crisis, state taxes that drive big and small businesses out of California, and an education system intent on banning Bibles from any curriculum.

These conditions can only go on unaddressed for so long. History teaches us that political strongholds begin to break when people get fed up with a political party’s reluctance and decide to do something meaningful to change it. The stronghold will not break at the hands of those who sit idly by and wistfully watch the state plummet into ruin. Now is the time to take a stand. A time to re-position ourselves for the state’s long-awaited pendulum swing.

The Vice President passionately articulated his belief in the California Republican Party and our resilience in the face of a broken culture. A culture that needs our party now more than ever before. In my brief conversation with the Vice President, it was clear he believes the values of our party can fill the void in our state and nation. Nevertheless, we must be the first to act.

I truly believe there has never been a more important time to be a principled conservative in the State of California. Together, let us continue the work of putting Republicans back in public office in California, bringing healing to a broken culture, real solutions to our state’s greatest problems, and light to a dark place in history.
