Hello,
“We’re taking California back.” Those were the first words to come from a fiery-eyed Vice President Mike Pence as I welcomed him to the Bay Area on November 12. The Vice President’s initial statement might seem laughable to many at a time when the Democrats hold a super-majority in the state legislature.
The Vice President was not ignorant of the Democratic Party’s current stronghold on California. Nevertheless, he made it clear he had a keen understanding of the plight of our state—a homeless population that mirrors that of a third world country, a state legislature that seems more intent on banning plastic straws than addressing the wildfire crisis, state taxes that drive big and small businesses out of California, and an education system intent on banning Bibles from any curriculum.
