Sadly, the rise in violent crime in America over the weekend has wreaked havoc on many of our poorest and most vulnerable neighborhoods — from Buffalo to Sacramento, Dallas to Norfolk, and Shreveport. These crimes are horrific and senseless.

We all deserve to live in safe and secure communities where we have the right and freedom to speak freely, protest peacefully, and express our beliefs openly. And that requires law enforcement officers to protect all of us.
