Celebrating AAPI Hertiage Month
This AAPI Heritage Month we look to amplify voices and stories of our Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
Recently Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper worked to preserve the Amache Camp into a National Park here in Colorado. [[link removed]]
Help us celebrate this month by attending one of the many events around the state:

[[link removed]] We are also thrilled to announce our keynote speaker for the 5th Annual Obama Gala -- Grace Meng.
Grace Meng represents New York’s 6th Congressional District located in Queens, New York. She was born and raised in Queens as the daughter of immigrants and has never forgotten where she came from or who she fights for.
As a child growing up in the most diverse county in America, Grace quickly came to believe that every person deserves a seat at the table. Whether young or old, rich or poor, she believes every voice deserves to be heard. That conviction prompted Grace to begin her professional career as a public interest lawyer and serve in the New York State Assembly before running for Congress.
In Congress, Grace has been ranked the 8th most-effective legislator in the Democratic Party (according to the Center for Effective Lawmaking), while one of the youngest Democrats in Congress. Grace continues to advocate for inclusive policies for often overlooked communities. She serves on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, responsible for funding every federal agency, program, and project. Grace fights for federal programs that benefit women and children, and even co-founded the Bipartisan Congressional Kids’ Safety Caucus. She is a leading voice on food safety, clean water, and consumer protection for families.

David Ortiz for HD38
David’s lifetime of service is defined by fighting for Equity of Opportunities . Whether he was helping Katrina evacuees resettle, creating educational exchanges and economic opportunities in his work at the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of International Affairs and Development, fighting for improved care and rehabilitation for service members and veterans suffering from spinal cord injuries, or advocating and lobbying for veterans and those with disabilities at the Colorado State Capitol; his servant leadership has been and is founded in fighting for that Equity of Opportunities for all . Since then, she has followed in his footsteps as a staunch advocate for public education. This year, among many other bills, she was a sponsor of the bill created the department of early childhood and Colorado’s universal pre-k program.
