People For Supporter –

Lacking any real agenda for the country, far-right state legislators
continue scapegoating LGBTQ+ people and other communities in order to push
their extremism. It’s part of a troubling and growing trend as the GOP
continues to wage the culture wars ahead of the midterm elections.

With a right-leaning Supreme Court, it’s increasingly critical that we
codify rights that protect LGBTQ+ people and other communities into
federal law. Emboldened by what appears to be a successful challenge to
Roe v. Wade, far-right activists are already eyeing a new target: marriage

And they won’t stop with marriage equality – the LBGTQ+ community lacks
explicit federal protections when it comes to public accommodations,
education, employment, housing, credit, and more. As several states
actively attempt to further undermine the rights of LBGTQ+ people,
particularly transgender people, the need for clear federal protections
couldn’t be greater.

The House last passed the Equality Act more than a year ago, and since
then it has been stalled in the Senate. We need advocates like you to

Opponents of LBGTQ+ equality have been making their voices heard with
their members of Congress, and we need to make sure that we outnumber
them.
