Bangor, Maine — The city council will repeal its ordinance banning the sale of flavored tobacco products after learning it did not properly notify affected businesses.

Maine — The legislature enacted legislation to increase funding for cessation and prevention and treatment programs to $15.9 million, of which $7.5 million is new funding. This is the full CDC-recommended level.

Tennessee — The legislature passed a bill to allow local governments to prohibit smoking in age-restricted venues that are not retail tobacco stores. Retail vapor product stores and adult-only cigar bars are exempt. Currently, local governments are preempted from doing so. The bill now moves to the governor’s desk for consideration.
