Friend -
Jennifer Esteen is running for Assembly District 20 because, as a psychiatric nurse in the San Francisco General Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Room, she sees injustices every single day.Â
She sees them in the disparities of who has access to basic healthcare and mental health services, and in the low wage workers who have to hold down multiple jobs just to make ends meet, and in the many people in her district and all over California who are being forced out of homes due to skyrocketing rent and housing costs.
Jennifer knows we can do better. That’s why we have endorsed her campaign. [[link removed]]
Jennifer knows what it means to fight for everything she has. During the 2007 economic collapse of the real estate market, Jennifer became an unemployed realtor and single mother facing foreclosure. Losing her home meant that homelessness could be imminent. She filed bankruptcy, fought past her darkest days, and dug deep to put herself through nursing school.Â
Jennifer will be the only person in the state legislature who’s stood side-by-side with nurses working on the frontlines over these last few years, but that’s not the only way Jennifer’s election will be historic.Â
Jennifer will be the FIRST openly queer Black person elected to represent the Golden State in the legislature. Help make 2022 the year we make history. [[link removed]]

Sincerely,
Dc Lozano, California Political Director
