COVID-19 keeps changing, but one thing that remains the same is the need for accessible information about what we can do to keep safe. This is why we made three new accessible resources all about masks, why some vaccines need a second shot, and how the virus keeps changing! All resources are available in English and Spanish with accompanying videos.
“Why you need a second shot” answers questions like:

Will I need more shots soon?
What’s the difference between a second shot and a booster?

“What you need to know about COVID-19 and wearing a mask” is about the different kinds of masks and why it’s important to wear them. Check it out for answers to questions like:

There are now COVID-19 variants, or different kinds of the COVID-19 virus. The Omicron variant can spread more easily than the original virus, which is dangerous. That’s why we have released this video and fact sheet about the COVID-19 Omicron variant and other variants “What you need to know about the Omicron variant and the COVID-19 vaccine” answers questions like:

What is the Omicron variant?
Will there be other variants?
What is a breakthrough case?
Does the vaccine still keep me safe?
When can we get back to normal?

In addition to our usual plain language resources, we also have some personal stories to share! Self-advocates from around the country shared with us what it was like to get the COVID-19 vaccine. You can hear from them here [[link removed]] . While many of them were worried at first, they knew it was important to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.

We hope that by learning more about the COVID-19 variants and vaccines, and sharing these resources, everyone can do their part to beat the virus and keep our community safe.
