The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is critical to
helping ensure that victims of domestic violence, stalking, and
sexual assault are protected and have access to needed services.
That’s why I’m so disgusted that Republicans in the Senate
stripped out critical provisions that I added just this year,
provisions that we worked hard to pass through the House. These
critical positions would safeguard women against gun violence
from abusers, protect Native women, and stop discrimination
against LGBTQ victims of abuse.
We need to stand together and tell Republicans to stop
playing political games with the lives of domestic violence
victims.
Add your name here to demand that the Senate pass a robust
version of VAWA instead of gutting it in favor of their
prejudiced views and the NRA!

I’ve worked on this issue for years and I’m proud of the
bill House Democrats passed this spring. There is a Senate
version that mirrors our legislation, but Republicans are
choosing to put their biased views and the NRA’s political
interests over protecting women from harm instead of moving
forward.
They should be ashamed of themselves.
Stand against Republican attempts to gut protections for
the most vulnerable in the Violence Against Women Act →
