UNICEF's agenda for addressing climate change

Polio vaccines for all children in Afghanistan

House-to-house polio vaccination will recommence across Afghanistan in November. The vaccination campaign will be the first in over 3 years to reach all children across the country. More than 3.3 million children, who previously remained inaccessible to vaccination campaigns, will now have a chance to receive vaccinations. Ensuring access to the polio vaccine will make it possible for Afghanistan to eradicate polio and keep children safe.

A shameful milestone in Yemen

Since fighting in Yemen began in 2015, 10,000 children have been maimed or killed — that’s about 4 children every single day. Yemen is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, according to UNICEF. In the face of mounting challenges, UNICEF continues to work to support all children in the country by providing nutrition treatment, distributing emergency cash transfers and increasing access to education and health centers. We remain committed to the children of Yemen and continue to advocate for their safety.
