* The lame duck session is upon us and it's time to try and get legislators to do the right thing!
Join NJ Institute for Social Justice with these easy links to contact your legislators. First, contact them about forming a
Reparations Task Force ([link removed]) .
Then contact them about closing prisons for children and helping those children instead with the New Jersey Youth Justice Transformation Act ([link removed]) .
And today the Assembly is meeting to vote on whether to restore the right to vote for people on parole and probation. If you haven't already, please contact your Assemblymembers about this right now ([link removed]) .
* It's also time to call your legislators and ask them to support driver's licenses for all! Let's Drive NJ has an easy way to reach yours ([link removed]) .
* It might be a bit of a shock to find out that in NJ, if someone murders someone who's gay or trans, the murderer can use that fact as a defense, saying they "panicked". Please sign this petition ([link removed]) to let the Assembly know that they need to pass a law banning this ridiculous and hateful defense.

Join Open My Eyes on December 5th in Cranford for a showing of the documentary Zero Tolerance ([link removed]) , which explores how the Trump administration turned immigration into a political weapon. Speakers and discussion will follow the film.
Open My Eyes ([link removed]) is an educational documentary group cosponsored by Action Together Union County ([link removed]) and the Westfield 20/20 ([link removed]) Diversity Action Group. ** Good News in New Jersey

* New Jersey is doing more to protect it's transgender citizens ([link removed]) .
* Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman ([link removed]) and Representative Mikie Sherrill ([link removed]) couldn't make it to our Gala, but they both sent their regards to Action Together New Jersey members!
* Governor Murphy announced he wants to double New Jersey's target for offshore wind power. ([link removed])
* Action Together New Jersey stands with Working Families Alliance Director Sue Altman ([link removed]) after she was forcibly removed ([link removed]) from a State Senate Hearing ([link removed]) for no reason

* While we're all disappointed that full cannabis legalization is again stalling, it's good to see that the idea of expunging criminal records for cannabis charges ([link removed]) is still going ahead.
