As you read this, shockwaves are reverberating across the cruel cage egg industry as the news sinks in: Arizona just became the latest state to ban battery cages.

This life-changing legislation will spare seven million hens from the pain, deprivation, and abject misery of “life” in a cage. That’s huge. And it’s all thanks to the hard work of the Arizona Department of Agriculture, animal advocacy groups across the country, and outspoken supporters of The Humane League, like you.

We're winning. But some still think it’s okay to abuse hens for profit.

Arizona’s battery cage ban reflects a growing trend that the food industry can’t ignore. Nine other states have already enacted similar bans, and every year our hard-hitting campaigns compel more major food companies to commit to doing the same.

We need to keep the pressure on to hold these companies to their commitments. In the wake of Arizona’s groundbreaking legislation, companies need to hear that there’s no excuse for continuing to profit from the suffering of caged hens.
