Nominations Committee for DSA-LA Elections

    December approaches and so too do the DSA-LA Local & Branch Officer Elections. These elections will determine our Steering Committee members, YDSA Coordinator, & Branch Coordinators, for each of our 3 branches, for the year 2020.

    Before our chapter votes on our future leadership, we must first elect our Nominations Committee, which is responsible for administering the Local & Branch Officer elections in December and the Subgroup Officer elections in January. In late September, the Steering Committee opened (and closed) the filing period for members to submit their interest in being on the Nominations Committee.

    As per our Bylaws <[link removed]>, “A three-person Nominations Committee shall be established at least one month prior to every Local Officer election by vote of the Local membership.” (Article VII, Section 1). The Nominations Committee will also run Branch Coordinator elections for each of our 3 branches, alongside Local Officer elections (Article VII, Section 2). Lastly, the Nominations Committee will oversee synchronized elections for all of our Local Subgroups in January 2020 (Article V, Section 8).


    Soon, you should be receiving a ballot to vote on our Nominations Committee. The voting period for Nominations Committee will be from Friday, November 22nd until 11:59 PM, Monday, November 25th.
