Who we are

Located in the heart of Oxford, Pusey House was founded to be "a house of sacred learning", dedicated to the memory of the Revd Professor E.B. Pusey, Regius Professor of Hebrew at the University of Oxford. The House is a place where theological study is encouraged alongside a community of worship and prayer. Drawing on the tradition of renewal that inspired the Oxford Movement, we seek to build up a community where a lively and reasonable faith is nourished by the beauty of the liturgy to form disciples in Christ for service in the Church and in the world.

We currently offer year-round liturgical provisions, internships for those considering ordained ministry in the Church of England, professional liturgical music (organ and choir), a large library for the use of anyone in or around Oxford, student programming that involves around 200 students per week of term in study groups, morning and evening prayer, liturgy, and academic lectures and seminars -- all that whilst remaining an informal Anglo-Catholic Chaplaincy to Oxford University.

The Centre for Theology, Law, and Culture

The Centre is an academic hub dedicated to enriching contemporary intellectual and cultural life by a rigorous engagement with Theology and Philosophy.

Based at Pusey House, the Centre draws upon Oxford’s longstanding and exceptional scholarship in Law and the Humanities, and in particular upon the Catholic tradition as received in the Church of England.

As a place of public theology, the Centre hosts colloquia, lectures, and seminars, and supports scholars and scholarship in the pursuit of truth within the academy, and for the renewal of the Church within a pluralistic society.
