Recapping Black Lives Matter’s various financial scandals <[link removed]> – Large media companies such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and most of the major TV networks seem determined that Black Lives Matter <[link removed]> should avoid negative coverage. This continues to be the case despite several bombshells this year regarding apparent financial improprieties by the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, BLM’s mothership. Here’s a handy rundown of just the major items. Heritage Expert:  Mike Gonzalez  <[link removed]>

Mask mandate extended for air travel and public transit through May 3 <[link removed]> – White House COVID-19 adviser Dr. Ashish Jha said last Sunday that CDC would follow the science in deciding whether to extend the mask mandate on air travel. Today's decision by the CDC to extend the mandate for an additional two weeks shows that he was wrong. Even before 218 million were fully vaccinated and 140 million acquired natural immunity by recovering from the disease, the two most comprehensive studies of masking on aircraft found that is one of the safest indoor environments. CDC doesn't recommend indoor masking for 99% of the population in less safe indoor settings and yet it is requiring 100% of air passengers to wear masks. Passengers who want to wear masks should do so. Those who prefer not to wear masks should not be required to do so. Heritage Experts: Doug Badger <[link removed]> and David Ditch <[link removed]>

Consequences of Biden’s Iran deal will be dangerously worse for the world <[link removed]> – Negotiations over a new nuclear deal
with Iran <[link removed]> have stalled. For now. But the talks are expected to resume. Policymakers would be wise to use this lull to take a sober look at the draft deal. They should pay particularly close attention to the dangerous regional consequences that would arise from another flawed deal with Iran <[link removed]>. As matters stand now, the new deal would be even worse than the original. Instead of the “stronger and longer” agreement we’d been promised, the deal now on the table is weaker and will shorten the time for Iran <[link removed]> to become a nuclear
power. Rather than prevent Iran <[link removed]> from getting the bomb, it would pave the way for Tehran to become nuclear and empower its “sanction-free” global
terroristic arm – the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Heritage Expert: James Carafano <[link removed]>

California Wants to Regulate Your Bacon. Here’s Why the Supreme Court Should Save It. <[link removed]> – The National Pork Products Council
v. Ross involves a California <[link removed]> law, Proposition 12, that regulates the confinement of farm animals, including pigs, and was approved <[link removed]> by more than 62% of California voters. It is all well and good for Californians to decide that their pork must come from pigs raised in a supposedly more humane way. But instead of consuming less pork raised in ways it doesn’t like, California has imposed its will on other states. Because California imports most of its pork from other parts of America, Proposition 12 ends up regulating pork producers across the country. In fact, because the state imports <[link removed]> a whopping 99.87% of its pork, the law has more of an impact outside the Golden State
than inside. This is nanny-statism on steroids. It’s as if one of 50 children appointed herself nanny and decided how the other 49 should be allowed to play. The good news is, there are rules that forbid these sorts of shenanigans. Heritage Expert: GianCarlo Canaparo  <[link removed]>

BLM Global Network Foundation’s Creators Are Not Interested in Black Lives <[link removed]> – Black Lives Matter <[link removed]> benefits from a vicious cycle that allows the organization to carry on changing America beyond recognition. Large media companies like The New York Times, The Washington Post, and TV networks have imposed a news blackout that ensures that BLM supporters ignore its intent and practices. This continues to be the case despite several breaking bombshells this year alone regarding financial improprieties by the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, BLM’s mothership. So unless you are that rare BLM backer who assiduously watches Fox News or reads the New York Post or the Washington Examiner—three organizations that take their journalistic responsibilities seriously regarding BLM, and which have recently been joined by New York Magazine—there are a number of important things you have missed. Here’s a handy rundown of just the major items, so you can email it to your liberal cousin. Heritage Experts: Mike Gonzalez <[link removed]> and Kara Frederick <[link removed]>

Brooklyn Shooting and the Effects of Soft-on-Crime Policies <[link removed]> – While we don’t know much yet about the tragic shooting that took place in NYC, thousands of people—often the most vulnerable members of society—face similar dangers each day. The soft-on-crime policies advocated by many on the left do not help the very people they are supposed to help. Unfortunately, violent crime is surging across the country.  Shootings, assaults, and murders are on the rise.  It’s no wonder rising crime is one of the top concerns of both republicans and democrats who were polled. The best way to combat this increase in crime is to hold criminals accountable.  Rogue prosecutors around the country have refused to prosecute entire categories of crimes and have refused to seek appropriate sentences in many cases. The safety of our communities depends on prosecutors doing their jobs. Heritage Experts: Cully Stimson <[link removed]> and Zack Smith <[link removed]>

The View from the Ground: The Practical Problems Caused by a Rogue Prosecutor’s Policies <[link removed]> - Rogue prosecutors <[link removed]> are implementing radical policies around the country, including not
prosecuting certain crimes, not seeking sentencing enhancements, and not opposing early release in many cases. L.A. DA George Gascon has taken these policies to their extremes. Hear from those directly impacted most—law enforcement officers, line prosecutors, and the families of crime victims. Heritage Experts: Cully Stimson <[link removed]> and Zack Smith <[link removed]>
