Mask mandate extended for air travel and public transit through May 3 – White House COVID-19 adviser Dr. Ashish Jha said last Sunday that CDC would follow the science in deciding whether to extend the mask mandate on air travel. Today's decision by the CDC to extend the mandate for an additional two weeks shows that he was wrong. Even before 218 million were fully vaccinated and 140 million acquired natural immunity by recovering from the disease, the two most comprehensive studies of masking on aircraft found that is one of the safest indoor environments. CDC doesn't recommend indoor masking for 99% of the population in less safe indoor settings and yet it is requiring 100% of air passengers to wear masks. Consequences of Biden’s Iran deal will be dangerously worse for the world – Negotiations over a new nuclear deal with Iran have stalled. For now. But the talks are expected to resume. Policymakers would be wise to use this lull to take a sober look at the draft deal. They should pay particularly close attention to the dangerous regional consequences that would arise from another flawed deal with Iran. As matters stand now, the new deal would be even worse than the original. Instead of the “stronger and longer” agreement we’d been promised, the deal now on the table is weaker and will shorten the time for Iran to become a nuclear power. Rather than prevent Iran from getting the bomb, it would pave the way for Tehran to become nuclear and empower its “sanction-free” global terroristic arm – the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. California Wants to Regulate Your Bacon. Here’s Why the Supreme Court Should Save It. – The National Pork Products Council v. Ross involves a California law, Proposition 12, that regulates the confinement of farm animals, including pigs, and was approved by more than 62% of California voters. It is all well and good for Californians to decide that their pork must come from pigs raised in a supposedly more humane way. But instead of consuming less pork raised in ways it doesn’t like, California has imposed its will on other states. Because California imports most of its pork from other parts of America, Proposition 12 ends up regulating pork producers across the country. In fact, because the state imports a whopping 99.87% of its pork, the law has more of an impact outside the Golden State than inside. This is nanny-statism on steroids. It’s as if one of 50 children appointed herself nanny and decided how the other 49 should be allowed to play. The good news is, there are rules that forbid these sorts of shenanigans.
