When the Biden administration announced that it would terminate the inhumane
Title 42 expulsion order, it marked a critical— and long overdue — step forward
towards improving access to asylum and protection in the United States. The
weaponization of Title 42 has effectively shut down access to asylum for more

[[link removed]]It’s important to remember that Congressional leaders, health experts, and top
CDC officials have repeatedly pointed out that there has never been a public
health justification for Title 42 expulsions. It was always about politics, not
public health. And now once again, Republicans are using a COVID-19 relief bill

federal agencies to keep border expulsions in place, thus forcibly removing
thousands of people seeking refuge — denying them their legal right to asylum.

, you joined thousands of advocates standing with the
Biden administration’s decision to end Title 42 expulsions. Now, we must send a
strong message to the Senate to vote NO on any amendment that will block access
to asylum at the border. Join us in calling on your senators to oppose efforts to politicize access to
asylum under the guise of public health. >>>
