Join us for virtual Earth Day events!
[[link removed]]
We're celebrating Earth Day throughout the month of April, and you're invited to join us for a full slate of virtual events!
The first event is an on-demand screening of the documentary film The Singing Planet , which celebrates the "exquisitely rich chorus" our planet offers to those who take the time to listen. Natural sounds recordists Richard Nelson and Hank Lentfer provide an immersion in these wild voices and the places that give rise to them.
The screening period takes place from April 2–8 and culminates with a panel discussion with the filmmaker, Liz McKenzie, natural sounds recordist Hank Lentfer, and Population Connection VP for Communications, Marian Starkey.
We hope you'll register to view this unforgettable film—as well as the other Earth Day events we're hosting!

PopEd lessons for teaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals
[[link removed]]
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) lay out guideposts for tackling environmental, social, and economic challenges on a global scale. They were designed as a call to action to unite nations around the world with the mission of promoting peace, prosperity, and environmental sustainability.
Teaching about the SDGs is a natural fit for teachers of all grades who strive to develop eco-minded global citizens—students who will be inspired to be change-makers in the years ahead. Check out PopEd's blog post to see all the classroom resources they'll be offering throughout the spring!

Read a recap of Capitol Hill Days 2022!

Population Connection and Population Connection Action Fund hosted our annual joint advocacy event, Capitol Hill Days, virtually, from March 16-21. Each year, we bring together activists from across the country and world to talk about the intersections between global reproductive health access, environmental issues, and population growth.
Sessions blended hands-on advocacy training, informational workshops, and panel discussions. Participants learned about the connections between climate, population, and reproductive health and how to advocate for reproductive rights for all.
During the lobby day on Monday, March 21, participants attended virtual meetings with their senators and representatives to advocate for the permanent repeal of the Global Gag Rule, greater U.S. investment in international family planning programs, and increased funding for the United Nations Population Fund.
