Today marks the fourth anniversary of the March for Our Lives, where students all across our nation stood up and demanded action on gun violence in the wake of the devastating shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Every day, gun violence strikes at the core of who we are as a nation — leaving countless lives lost and communities never the same.
Here in Washington State, we’ve led the fight for gun violence prevention, passing landmark gun safety legislation at the ballot box and in our state legislature. We’ve seen an unsettling lack of action from Congress. Our nation must stand up to the NRA so we can keep our communities safe from gun violence.
