John, I’m disgusted and furious.
This month, Florida Republicans passed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill –
a proposed law that would ban all discussion of LGBTQ+ issues,
history, people, and more in the classroom.
Let’s be clear: This a direct attack on our LGBTQ+ youth, who
already face higher risks of bullying and suicide. This bill is
anti-history and jeopardizes the safe learning environments that
are so essential in our schools.
I’ve pledged to build a Florida for All, and all
includes everyone. That’s why I’m working with Ron Be Gone to
beat DeSantis and end this crusade against LGBTQ+ students once

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gov. DeSantis and his
allies in the Florida Legislature have attacked the LGBTQ+
community.
On the first day of Pride Month 2021, the governor signed an
anti-transgender bill. It was abhorrent then, and it’s abhorrent
now.
