- Integrating robust mental health teams as primary responders to mental crises.
- Reducing bias and building community trust.
- Establishing Comprehensive Community Policing models that increase interaction and community feedback on policies and practices.
- Enhancing youth diversion programs rather than incarceration.
- Ensuring hiring practices and promotions that reflect our diverse community.

Leadership without transparency and accountability is especially unacceptable in an elected position. Ben knows that we can change our law enforcement goals to be more efficient and adapt to the needs of society.

Ben Therriault grew up on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana. He will be the first Native American County Sheriff in California history. He fought in the Iraq war where he was awarded several medals for his honorable service. He has been a policeman for the past 14 years.
