John, this news
out of Tennessee is exactly WHY we do the work we do – to defeat corrupt
DAs like Amy Weirich.

DA Weirich oversaw both of these cases.

In one, a white ex-deputy cop was accused of raping a 14 year old girl.

In another, Pamela Moses, a Black woman who is a former Memphis mayoral
candidate, was accused of illegally registering to vote.

The ex-deputy was allowed to AVOID prison and his sex offender status. But
Pamela was sentenced to SIX YEARS IN PRISON for trying to register to
vote.

It’s disgusting. It’s racist. It’s why we need to elect more DAs who will
actually hold the cops accountable and stop locking up Black and brown
people.

They uphold white supremacy, protect corrupt cops — all while
criminalizing communities of color and the poor.

DAs decide which cases to prosecute, so they are some of the only
positions of power that can drastically change our local criminal legal
systems.

THIS is why we do this work. This is why we elect DAs who are deeply
committed to civil rights and real justice for ALL of us.
