In April’s Tributary Talk event, we'll host an open conversation about how donors can better center community through their giving. Headwaters organizes donors to give boldly—trusting that the people most affected by injustice lead the way to our collective liberation.

President Maria De La Cruz’s latest blog post<[link removed]>. In it, she shares how Headwaters leadership came to the decision to move to a 4-day work week, and how the decision fits into the Foundation’s commitment to its values and its people:
“My board and staff have heard me say over and over that achieving the goals in our strategic plan won’t matter if our culture and our people are not healthy. HFJ’s work is about people and community, and that includes our employees.”

Black Seed Fund Nominations Close March 18
The nomination period for the Black Seed Fund is almost over! Nominations must be submitted online by March 18 at 5 p.m.

The Black Seed Fund makes grants to Black-led work that move us closer to liberation. These two-year general operating grants provide maximum flexibility, allowing organizations to invest resources where they are most needed.
The Fund is open to Black-led nonprofits and fiscally-sponsored groups that are based in Minnesota and serving Minnesota populations. Grants will provide $20,000 to $50,000 of general operating support over two years.

AICHO is beyond thrilled to host Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe citizen and Finnish painter Carl Gawboy this March through May 2022 in our AICHO Galleries with a series of brand new – never-before-seen work created in 2020 and 2021! The exhibition will include a collection of over 30 watercolor, acrylics and ink washes that feature Anishinaabe and Finnish cultural life, landscapes and spiritual teachings. Also on display will be Carl’s artist awards, his book/ publications and visual accolades for the work that he has created.
