Fellow Conservative,

On Thursday, the House began day one of their public impeachment hearings, and liberals were anxiously awaiting for “the big reveal.” But as Adam Schiff lifted the curtains on his secretive impeachment process, there was nothing to show.

As The Hill put it, “...not much new was unearthed…” <[link removed]>

There was no big reveal. No smoking gun. No Watergate 2.0.

We’ve all heard of buyer’s remorse, but by Thursday night, many House Democrats must have been feeling a lot of seller’s remorse. Without having the facts, they claimed impeachment was necessary, and sold their story to the American people. And now they have egg on their face—and they will, all the way through 2020.

What do Americans want?

A new Monmouth poll shows that nearly three fourths of Americans, 73%, have little to no trust in the House Democrats handling of their impeachment process.

The American people clearly don’t want or trust this impeachment inquiry. Americans want Congress to focus on the issues and legislate.

For instance, Congress still hasn’t funded the government for all of 2020; they were supposed to get this done by October 1—it’s now November 16. And every day they wait, it hurts our military’s ability to recruit, buy equipment, and conduct normal operations. #LegislateNotInvestigate

House Votes for Crony Capitalism
On Friday, the House voted to reauthorize the United States Export-Import Bank for another 10 years.

But the Export-Import Bank is crony capitalism at its worst—it gives taxpayer funded loans to foreign countries and companies so they can buy products from American corporations.

Some say the bank is needed to protect American workers and businesses and combat China, but the bank’s actions have had the opposite effect. Taxpayer-backed Ex-Im loans are aiding foreign companies backed by countries like China, Mexico, and Turkey.

President Trump and Republican lawmakers were elected to drain the swamp and stand up for working-class Americans, not boost government programs that help politically connected multinational corporations and subsidize China.

Closing the Export-Import Bank is the right thing to do.

This bill is now being passed to the Senate, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is refusing to take it up. Instead the Majority Leader is inclined to reauthorize the bank for just one year as part of an upcoming omnibus package.

Either way, keeping the Export-Import Bank is a bad deal for American workers and taxpayers.
Senate Confirms Record Number of Federal Judges
This week, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Steven Menashi to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. Steven Menashi is a well-qualified and experienced jurist who will uphold the Constitution and interpret the law as it was written.

Heritage Action is proud to support the President’s agenda of putting qualified judges on the bench. The Trump Administration is now responsible for having appointed 25% of all current federal judges.

President Trump’s impact will span generations because of his focus on appointing judges that uphold the Constitution instead of legislating from the bench.

Thank you for standing with us and taking action on these issues! Every call to Congress, every email, every letter to an editor—they all make a difference. Together, we are winning on a lot of the issues that matter most.
