John, in recent years we’ve repeatedly been confronted by the fact that American democracy — even in the 21st century — is fragile.

Its survival relies on vigilance, on patriotism, and on courage. And when elections take place, it relies on putting country over party no matter the result.

Too many Republicans have failed in that duty and lack that courage.

This is what it comes down to, John: Democrats will uphold the will of the people — full stop. The GOP will only consider elections valid that keep them in power.
