I started my career at Planned Parenthood as an organizer in Nebraska and Iowa. It was truly hard work, but I met some inspiring people during that time. And I learned so much about what it takes to really fight for health care and reproductive rights in this country.

One of the most important lessons is this: We have to be ready to fight for every state, every community, every patient. Even in places where the deck seems stacked against us and the odds of winning seem long. Especially in those places.

That's why it was so heartening to see a powerful outpouring of support for Texans when the S.B. 8 abortion ban went into effect there. Now, Idaho and Oklahoma are moving ahead with copycat bans that could cut even more people off from care -- and we need that same passion, outrage, and determination.

I'm not about to let lawmakers drag our rights back 50 years. And I hope you won't either. Make an emergency gift right now to protect abortion access everywhere our rights are under attack.
