As Black History Month comes to a close, I’m writing to thank you for: learning more about civil rights hero Bayard Rustin

; and condemning the killing of Amir Locke

and the racist systems that perpetuate this violence.
The stories of these three individuals make clear to me that our racial justice work is critical all year long. And as we look ahead, we follow the path already created by black-led organizations. We also encourage you to support their work with a donation.
Black & Pink

- dedicated to abolishing the criminal punishment system and liberating LGBTQ and HIV-positive people who are affected by that system through advocacy, support, and organizing.
Glits

- aims to change systemic and economical oppressions of marginalized communities both in NYC and globally.
The Black Sex Worker Collective

- a philanthropic arts project seeking to amplify the voices of Black Sex Workers by addressing their needs through peer support, legal assistance, housing and other basic needs assessment.
For the Gworls

- a collective that curates parties to fundraise money to help Black transgender people pay for their rent, gender-affirming surgeries, smaller co-pays for medicines/doctor’s visits, and travel assistance.
The Afiya Center

- transforming the lives, health, and overall wellbeing of Black womxn and girls by providing refuge, education, and resources; they act to ignite the communal voices of Black womxn resulting in our full achievement of reproductive freedom.
The Okra Project

- a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever they can reach them.
