Pennsylvania Needs More Psychiatric Beds Hello John, Did you see the op-ed that I wrote for The Philadelphia Inquirer yesterday? In it, I argue how psychiatric beds can help to prevent suicide, allowing people in a mental health crisis to safely stabilize. Even as suicide rates are rising in Pennsylvania, bed availability continues to plummet. "This is perhaps one of the most preventable tragedies that exist in contemporary society," I write.
