In 2021, the U.S. experienced one of its most catastrophic climate years on record. Maybe you were among the 40% of U.S. residents who live in counties hit by climate disasters, and maybe you experienced one of these disasters first-hand ? our thoughts are with you and your neighbors.

In the last year alone, there were at least 20 major climate disasters that, in total, killed nearly 700 people and caused $145 billion in damage, and this is likely an undercounting of the true toll in the U.S. These devastating losses are becoming more and more common, and are having a disproportionate impact on communities of color and low-wealth communities across our country.

The truth is climate inaction costs more than climate action. That's why Congress and President Biden must take meaningful action on climate, environmental justice, and clean energy without delay.
