The truth is: Climate inaction costs more than climate action. Even CEOs of some utility companies agree that we cannot afford the cost of climate inaction — and that Congress must stop stalling now.

We are all seeing the dangers first-hand, and 2021 was one of the most catastrophic climate years on record in the U.S. In my home state of Pennsylvania, where Hurricane Ida wreaked havoc last summer, extreme rainfall is increasing and flood risks are rising due to climate change, and our leaders are already looking into relocation plans for vulnerable communities. And in California, just last week a brush fire, caused by rising temperatures, ravaged communities outside Los Angeles.

The fight is far from over. With historic climate investments already passed by the U.S. House, we are still pushing hard to secure key pieces of climate, environmental justice, and clean energy legislation in the Build Back Better agenda in the Senate. Our campaigns continue to run across the country to secure votes from elected leaders and rally the people. And friend, we need you on our side.
