In January, Barbara learned she’d be running in California’s 12th District. She’ll represent the same East Bay communities she does now, but in a district with a new name now that California’s congressional maps have been redrawn.

Now, we’re back in campaign mode as we set out to re-elect Barbara to the newly drawn 12th District, defend our slim House majority — where only five seats stand in the way of a Republican takeover, and continue advancing our progressive agenda.

The truth is, midterm elections are never easy for the party in power. But we have hope.

We have hope because our movement is backed by grassroots power, not special interests and mega donors. Unlike our Republican opponents, Democrats have delivered help for working families — and our job isn’t done yet.
