A Democratic Congressman just retired in North Carolina in a swing
district that Democrats can win...if we have the right candidate.

This Thursday evening, we'd like to [ [link removed] ]introduce you to Erica Smith, the
progressive who instantly became the frontrunner when she declared her
candidacy.

Erica worked grueling dawn-to-dusk hours on her family's farm growing up
-- allowing her to appeal to rural and urban constituencies alike while
representing much of this congressional district for three terms in the
State Senate.

She's a rising star.

rural voters to enthusiastically support progressive policies such as

Erica is a teacher, engineer, and minister and has spent much of her life

industrial toxins and went head-to-head with payday lenders trying to
trick workers and families.
