“‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”
Matthew 9:37-38 (ESV)
Jesus looked over the large crowds who had gathered around Him, desiring to help them. He told His disciples they were “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (verse 36).
While on earth Jesus relieved people’s suffering, restored their dignity, and revealed eternal hope. He left His disciples with the same mandate.
Jesus’ charge cannot be completed by just a few. There are too many who need help. So He tells us to pray for more workers so that everyone can experience God’s kindness and hear His message of eternal hope. Will you pray today and ask how God would have you help?
Praises and Prayers
Pray for the people of Ethiopia. The current civil war has left more than 2 million people displaced. Famine-like conditions are sweeping across the land. Pray that God will use the humanitarian aid provided Unto for relieving suffering for many people.
Pray that COVID cases will decline around the world so that our staff members and volunteers can travel to conduct vision clinics that serve people in need of eyeglasses and reveal the hope of Jesus. In addition COVID protocols have caused the Unto Global Logistics Center to operate with significantly fewer volunteers. Pray for a steady stream of volunteers to come help pack and prepare aid for shipment to the toughest places.
Praise God for the work done by our Disaster Response Teams in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Together with local partners, they were able to help many storm victims. Pray for the follow up and continued recovery efforts being done by local teams and churches.
