“‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’” Matthew 9:37-38 (ESV) Jesus looked over the large crowds who had gathered around Him, desiring to help them. He told His disciples they were “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (verse 36). While on earth Jesus relieved people’s suffering, restored their dignity, and revealed eternal hope. He left His disciples with the same mandate. Jesus’ charge cannot be completed by just a few. There are too many who need help. So He tells us to pray for more workers so that everyone can experience God’s kindness and hear His message of eternal hope. Will you pray today and ask how God would have you help?
