Buckle up, folks!

I’m Alex, Team Ryan’s Research Director. It’s my job to keep track of how
much our opponents are spending against us and it’s not looking good.

Ohio Republicans are currently leading the nation in campaign spending.
We’re already on track to be the most expensive Senate race in Ohio’s
history—and it’s only January!

I just dug into the numbers and take a look:

* Matt Dolan has contributed $10.5 million to his campaign
* Mike Gibbons is self-funding with $11.4 million of his own fortune
* Jane Timken put in $2 million of her own money into her campaign
* Both JD Vance and Josh Mandel (also millionaires) have multi-million
dollar super PACs backing their bids

The millions already being spent in Ohio are UNPRECEDENTED ($40 million,
are you kidding me?). But, we all know why: the Senate majority hinges on
what happens here.
