According to Human Rights for Kids, Maryland is ranked one of the worst states in the country [[link removed]] for protecting the rights of kids in our justice system. 2022 is the year for youth justice reform in Maryland, but we need your help to make it happen.
SB165/HB294, sponsored by Senator Carter and Delegate Crutchfield, would bring Maryland in line with 26 other states and end the practice of automatically charging kids in adult court. Kids will still be held accountable for their actions and their cases can still be brought to adult court. Read more about it here. [[link removed]]
