Republicans will be forced to go on the record later today and cast their
vote on the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Let’s be clear what their no vote means:

This vote is an admission that the Republican party needs voter
suppression to win elections. Their election strategy is to keep Americans
from voting and they’re perfectly fine making that known.

The fact that Republicans can lose the Senate and still block voting
rights makes it even more clear that we must abolish the filibuster and
elect a slate of new leaders who will fight for pro-democracy reforms.

you split a $3 contribution between Courage to Change –
AOC’s leadership PAC – and our campaign to help us support and elect
progressive champions to Congress?

Let’s be clear: Voting rights are bigger than political ideology. They are
the foundation of our democracy and our most core value to ensure that our
government is ‘of the people, for the people, and by the people’.

When 19 states enact 33 laws to make it harder for Americans to vote, the
natural response from legislators who believe in the values of democracy
should be to pass voting rights protections.^1 That is unless your party
needs voter suppression to win.

Without voting rights legislation, it will be an uphill battle to reach
voters, overcome heavily gerrymandered districts, and grow our majority
this November.

But with your support, we can get to work now supporting progressive
candidates who will join our fight for comprehensive voting rights reform.

[ [link removed] ]Alexandria is leading a new wave of progressive voices in Congress,
and with our help, we can send more visionary leaders to join her. Please
split a $3 contribution — or anything you can — between
Courage to Change and our campaign today.

Thank you,

Team AOC
