** CALL TO ACTION: Help pass CalCare!

The Assembly Health Committee just passed Calcare (AB 1400), the statewide single-payer healthcare bill!!! Now the bill is sent to the Appropriations Committee, where it needs to be approved by January 21st, and then to the Assembly floor, where it needs to be passed by January 31st.

Here are three key action items that you can do to help pass Calcare.
1. Call and email Santa Barbara Assemblymember Steve Bennett and urge him to support Calcare!

2. RSVP for Phonebanks run by the California Nurses Association to call voters in key Appropriations Committee member’s districts.

3. Send a letter to the Appropriations Committee following the California Nurses Association guide for individuals.
