In 2021 alone, at least 19 states passed 34 laws restricting access to the ballot box. And more than 400 bills with voter restriction provisions have been introduced in state legislatures around the country. These laws disproportionately impact communities of color and low-income folks, and this injustice must not continue any longer.

 


Friends, we’re at a pivotal moment in our country’s history. Voting rights legislation is again up for a vote in Congress this month, and Yvette’s doing everything she can to ensure that every American citizen has an equal say.

 

We can’t wait. We must do our part to protect access to the ballot box, and we must elect reliable, experienced progressive leaders to advocate tirelessly for the values we hold most dear. As the only Black woman representing New York in Congress and a seasoned supporter of voting rights, Yvette’s the woman for the job.
