Chapter Meeting

Wednesday January 12, 2022 @ 7:00pm on Zoom

Join us this Wednesday, January 12 at 7:00 pm for our first meeting of 2022. We will be returning to a virtual setting for this month. Jonathan Abboud, who is running for State Assembly, will join us to give a campaign presentation and ask for our chapter's endorsement. Please join if you're interested in hearing him speak. Other agenda items include:

* Status update on the Worker's Rights Hotline and upcoming Labor training opportunities
* A presentation about the UCSB anti-militarization petition
* News about CalCare (AB 1400) and formation of a Healthcare Working Group
* Filling vacancies on the Steering Committee
* Electing a delegate to serve on the CA DSA State Council

AB 1400 Goes Before State Assembly

AB 1400, also known as CalCare, will be heard by the California Assembly Health Committee on Tuesday, January 12th. To move forward, the bill will need to pass in the committee by January 14th and in the general assembly by January 31st.
